5. HOW TO: Download Lessons
Introduction
The Lesson Viewer allows you view your Lessons without being connected to the internet. You can download the Lesson Viewer for free by clicking here. Once you have the Lesson Viewer installed on your computer or USB drive you are ready to view your Lessons offline. This guide will show you how to:
- Use the Lesson Viewer's "Import from Code" Feature
- Download Lessons as Zip Files
Use the Lesson Viewer's "Import from Code" Feature
If your Lesson Viewer is installed on a computer that is connected to the internet you can download Lessons automatically by entering the Lesson Download Code into the Lesson Viewer.
1) Find the Lesson Download Code
Each Lesson has a unique Lesson Download Code, which can be found beneath the Lesson title on the website, or at the top right of the screen when viewing Lessons in your Workspace. Note down this number; it will be needed for the next step.
2) Run the Lesson Viewer
Open the Lesson Viewer program. Log in with your Username and click the "Import" button at the top of the screen.
Enter your Lesson Download Code into the box provided in the Lesson Viewer import pane and click "Import From Code".
The Lesson Viewer will now download the Lesson automatically. Please ensure that you remain connected to the internet whilst the Lesson is downloading - disconnecting while downloading could cause errors in the Lesson.
Once the download has completed, your Lesson can be accessed from the "My Downloaded Lessons" link on the Home screen of the Lesson Viewer.
Download Lessons as Zip Files
You can download the Lesson as a Zip file if you wish to later add it to a Lesson Viewer that is not connected to the internet. You can save this Lesson file to a USB stick or writeable CD, then copy it over to the computer on which it will be used.
1) Download the Lesson zip
To download the Lesson to your computer, click "Download Lesson (PC & Mac)" on the Lesson page. This will open a window containing the link to your Lesson. Click the link to begin the download.
Your web browser may ask if you wish to "Open" or "Save" the file. Choose "Save", and select an appropriate location to save the file. Please note that download times vary according to the speed of your internet connection and the size of the Lesson you are downloading.
2) Import the Lesson zip
Once the download is complete, start the Lesson Viewer and log in with your Username. Click the "Import" button at the top of the screen. Click "Import from Zip" and navigate to the downloaded Zip file. Double-click on the file to begin the import process.
You can now access your new Lesson by clicking the "My Downloaded Lessons" icon on the Home screen of the Lesson Viewer.
